All of us at the CAA extend a loud and heart-felt “THANK YOU!” to the Illinois Humanities Council and Phillips 66 for their support of Archeology Day 2014! Grant funds totaling $3,770 will provide vital support for all aspects of promoting and hosting our annual day of exploring archeology. Mark your calendars – Archeology Day is just around the corner: Saturday, July 12, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm in Kampsville (rain or shine!). Activities will include tours of the Buried Gardens of Kampsville Site (TBGOK), ancient technology demonstrations (including a flintknapping demo by Larry Kinsella), artifact identification, Arky Olympics, kids’ activity area, artifact washing & flotation sample processing, lectures by CAA staff about their current research, guest lecturers, informative exhibits, and much more. We hope to see you in Kampsville! Questions? Feel free to send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call our office at 618-653-4316 for more information.
This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Illinois Humanities Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Illinois General Assembly.
