High School Field School
Dates:1 week program:
June 25 -July 20

Academic Credit: In the past some students have arranged to receive credit through their high schools - our staff will work with your teacher. Contact the Center for American Archeology (CAA) for details.

(All options include room and board and chaperones 24 hours a day).
High school students come from across the country to participate in this enriching program that introduces archeological method and theory and actively engages them in the research process. Students will excavate at the Koster South site, learn artifact identification, process artifacts in the laboratory, and learn about prehistoric technologies through hands-on activities. Day activities concentrate on excavation with evenings devoted to laboratory processing and past lifeways activities.
