Development Officer (Full-Time, Salaried Position) The Center for American Archeology (CAA), Kampsville, Ill., an independent
501(c)3 not-for-profit research and educational institution, seeks an experienced
Development Officer with demonstrated success in leading and managing the
fund raising of an educational organization/museum. The successful applicant
must be an advocate for the CAA, its mission and goals. S/he will have
excellent verbal, interpersonal, and writing skills; the ability to forecast
fund-raising goals, meet deadlines, manage time effectively; and be computer
proficient.

Starting date for both positions is June 14, 2002. Application deadline is May 3, 2002. Field Assistant/Chaperone This full-time position requires assistance with carrying out excavation, instruction of high school fields school students and acting as chaperone to high school students staying in the Center’s dormitories. Minimum qualifications are: knowledge of field archeology; completion of a field school; decision-making and interpersonal skills. As chaperone, this candidate will live in the dormitory with high school field school students and will participate in evening and weekend activities offered as part of the field school. This position includes room and board (excluding weekend meals) and a salary. Lab and Field Assistant/Chaperone This full-time position requires assistance with carrying out excavation as well as cleaning and processing artifacts in an archeological laboratory. This candidate will assist in teaching high school field school students the fundamentals of field excavation and lab analysis. This candidate will act as chaperone in the Center’s dormitories. Minimum qualifications are: knowledge of field archeology; completion of a field school; familiarity with laboratory procedures in an archeological lab; decision-making and interpersonal skills. As chaperone, this candidate will live in the dormitory with high school field school students and will participate in evening and weekend activities offered as part of the field school.
