My name is Becky Song Hanyu, I am a junior archaeology major from Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, China. I have been an exchange student in the University of Washington since last September and am currently participating in the field programs organized by the CAA in Kampsville, Illinois.
The field excavation and lab work are really appealing to me, and also fun. I have started to gain a lot of first-hand archaeological experience. Thank you so much to Prof. Gwen P. Bennett and Prof. Li Yongxian who gave me the chance to come here. I also wish to thank our field director Jason L. King and TA Taylor Thornton, who are teaching me how to do every aspect of archaeology: digging, washing artifacts, sorting artifacts and so on.
If you want to know something about Chinese archaeology or about my hometown Chengdu (which is the home of pandas and spicy Chinese food!) feel free to contact me.
Thank you for reading.
