Kampsville is a historic river community located on the Great River Road (Highway 100) in scenic and rural Calhoun County, a narrow peninsula between the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers.
Visitors often enter the village by way of the Kampsville Ferry. Ferry rides have always been a highlight of the Kampsville experience.
The Center is privileged to have a local historic landmark as its administrative headquarters. Built in 1883 by Kampsville's founder, M. A. Kamp, the Kamp Mansion now houses the offices for our professional and support staff.
