Museum in the Classroom
The Museum in the Classroom Project is an on-line grant from the Illinois
State Board of Education. The grant matches classrooms with museums
throughout the state. Paula Segraves and Jane Simmons' third and fourth
grade classes from East Side Elementary in Harrisburg, Illinois, were matched
with the Center for American Archaeology at Kampsville, Illinois. An on-line
interactive research project on Prehistoric Indians of Southern Illinois
was started. Students researched, collected data, visited sites, photographed,
and created Quick Time Virtual Reality videos to disseminate their Prehistoric
Indian Project on the internet.
