We have two new programs to announce this year: Eco Adventure Day Camp and the Kampsville Legacy Scholarship program. See below for details!

Group Opportunities

Past Lifeways (Spring & Fall 2018)
Past Lifeways is an experiential, STEM-based program for 2nd-12th grade students that allows them to explore the environment and daily life of past peoples of the Illinois Valley through archaeology and related disciplines. Past Lifeways is for school groups, scouts, and other groups. Single and multi-day options are available.

Short Programs

Eco Adventure Day Camp (June 12-14 & July 10-12)
Eco Adventure Day Camp is our new summer program with McCully Heritage Project for students entering the 5th-8th grades. Sign-up for 1-3 days and join the adventure in scenic Calhoun County!

Flintknapping Workshop with Tim Dillard (May 27-June 2)
Learn to make stone tools with expert flintknapper Tim Dillard. This one-week program is for beginners and experienced flintknappers alike.

Field Schools

Join the CAA’s 2018 field crew at the Golden Eagle site! Work with CAA archaeologists and help investigate this important site.

Scholarships

The CAA is pleased to offer two scholarship opportunities for High School and Adult Field School students in 2018.

The Women in Archeology Scholarship is for women in either program and is funded by a grant from the Monticello College Foundation.

The Kampsville Legacy Scholarship is our new scholarship for all students. This program is funded by donations from our Legacy members—past students of CAA programs.

Please note: The Women in Archeology and Kampsville Legacy Scholarships are available only for those applying to the CAA’s field schools. They may not be used to attend other field schools.The priority consideration deadline for both scholarships is March 15. Don’t miss out!

Women in Archeology Internship (June 4-August 12)
The Women in Archeology Internship, funded by a grant from the Monticello College Foundation, is a ten-week internship for women pursuing a career in archaeology. Interns work with CAA archaeologists and supervise field and laboratory activities of our field schools. The application deadline is April 15!
